Hey Team Edward, there’s something new for you on Netflix!
Stephenie Meyer’s 2020 book Midnight Sun, which retells the first Twilight story from Edward Cullen’s view, is getting an animated series. This project is already in development, offering a fresh take on the sparkling vampire who charms Bella Swan.
The Twilight saga, with its massive film franchise starring Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, includes the original movie plus New Moon, Eclipse, and both parts of Breaking Dawn.
Meyer will executive produce Midnight Sun along with Meghan Hibbett through Fickle Fish Films. Joining them are Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen from Temple Hill Entertainment, and Erik Feig and Samie Kim Falvey from Picturestart. Sinead Daly, known for works like Tell Me Lies and The Walking Dead: World Beyond, will also write and executive produce.
