This popular manga by Yuto Suzuki shares the tale of Taro Sakamoto, once the top assassin. He was feared by enemies and respected by other hitmen. But everything changed when he fell in love, settled down, and became a dad. Even though he got out of shape, his skills stayed sharp. In dire situations, he sheds his extra weight and becomes even stronger than before.

What is SAKAMOTO DAYS about?
Sakamoto’s life took a turn when he met Aoi, a convenience store clerk, and immediately retired.
He got married, had a daughter, and opened a small store in a peaceful town. Sakamoto transformed into a bigger man but remained protective of his family. He and his friends face off against assassins to keep their peaceful life.
The action-packed battles, with no limits, have grabbed attention everywhere. In a world full of assassins like “The Order” and a mysterious figure named “X (Slur),” Sakamoto wonders what true strength means.

Director Masaki Watanabe wants to bring the manga’s intensity to the screen. “When I first had the chance to read SAKAMOTO DAYS, I remember how electrifying the powerful action scenes were,” he says. “Keeping that feeling at the heart of production, I want to take all the components unique to the screen — movement, color, and sound — to make SAKAMOTO DAYS a dynamic and fast-paced anime, while keeping in mind the humor sprinkled throughout the original.
