Bill Gates believes that asking the right questions opens doors to understanding big issues like artificial intelligence and income inequality. “I have always loved learning,” he told Netflix. “Whether at school, Microsoft, or now, as a philanthropist, I consider myself a student.” In the five-episode series What’s Next? The Future with Bill Gates, debuting September 18, Gates dives into these subjects with curiosity and eagerness.
Oscar winner Morgan Neville, who is the series’ executive producer, praised Gates’ thirst for knowledge. “Bill is one of the most curious people I’ve met, and the amount of learning he still does on a daily basis is truly inspiring,” he said. The show includes insights from scientists, politicians, journalists, medical professionals, and artists on topics like climate change, deadly diseases, and social media misinformation. “This series covers some of the most relevant and often polarizing topics facing society today, and I hope this exploration will be as exciting for people to watch as it was for me to film,” Neville added. “Learning new things and meeting innovators are what enriches my life every day, and this series gave me an opportunity to do both those things.”
