Stranger Things: The First Shadow originally premiered in London’s West End in December 2023. Tickets for the Phoenix Theatre production are available until February 16, 2025.
This play is based on a story by the Duffer brothers, Jack Thorne (known for writing Enola Holmes 2), and Kate Trefry, rooted in the Stranger Things world. Written by Trefry and directed by Tony winner Stephen Daldry, with co-direction by Justin Martin, it’s produced by Netflix and Sonia Friedman Productions. The Duffer brothers serve as creative producers, joined by Shawn Levy and Dan Cohen from 21 Laps Entertainment as associate producers.
Fans are excited to see what the play’s storyline is. Here’s a sneak peek:
“Before the world turned upside down. Hawkins, 1959: a regular town with regular worries. Young Jim Hopper’s car won’t start, Bob Newby’s sister won’t take his radio show seriously, and Joyce Maldonado just wants to graduate and get the hell out of town. When new student Henry Creel arrives, his family finds that a fresh start isn’t so easy … and the shadows of the past have a very long reach.”
