Tyler Henry has been talking to the dead since he was 10.
Over the past decade, Tyler has given readings to many famous faces like the Kardashians and Megan Fox. He’s got a super long waiting list, with over 600,000 people wanting to talk to him.
After his hit Netflix show, Life After Death with Tyler Henry, he launched another live series on Sept. 17. The new show, Live from the Other Side with Tyler Henry, features celebrity guests seeking messages from loved ones who have passed away. Amanda Kloots moderates the show, which keeps the guests’ identities secret from Tyler until he starts the reading.
“I liken my job to that of a mailman,” Tyler told Tudum. “In the sense that I don’t write the letters, I just deliver the message. My priority is to ensure that I’m doing the message justice. I’m not responsible for what I get, but I do feel responsible for how I deliver it. I try to be tactful, diplomatic, thoughtful of the person’s feelings, but it’s very much an interpretive process.”
The first episode, titled “Connection,” featured Chrishell Stause, her sister Shonda, and friends Chris Appleton, Nina Parker, and Molly Burnett. Chrishell lost both her parents within a year, which made this reading particularly emotional.
“Chrishell’s reading had a lot of really special moments,” Tyler shared. “The family dynamics, the acknowledgments of her siblings — and I think on some level, just the fact that Chrishell was like a mother to her own mother, that that message validated feelings she had.”
We think it’s amazing how these readings can bring comfort to people.
When Episode 1 started, Tyler told a producer what he sensed might come up during the live session.
“There’s a reference to parents guiding someone’s love life through the other side,” Tyler mentioned as he walked to the stage.
Chrishell, the first guest, appeared on the show. Although she’s spoken about her parents’ deaths before, Tyler didn’t know he’d be meeting her.
“I need you to know that she wasn’t afraid when she went,” he gently told Chrishell.
He also said that her parents’ messages were linked to her love life.
“They sent someone to try to take care of you,” Tyler explained. “There’s this sense of them having a hand in this.”
Chrishell married G Flip, an Australian drummer, in 2023.
“I knew if my parents had the chance to meet my partner, they’d love G so much,” Chrishell said. “G is a drummer [like my dad]. It really did feel like my parents sent G to me.” She had felt her mother trying to share this message before.
Watch Live from the Other Side with Tyler Henry every Tuesday at 3 p.m. PST/6 p.m. EST.
