A new family drama is coming to Netflix for those who love messy family stories.
Netflix just revealed that Holt McCallany will be starring in the series The Waterfront, and there’s even more exciting news: Maria Bello is joining the cast as Mae Buckley. She recently won a Critics Choice Award for her role in Beef.
Kevin Williamson, known for his work on Scream and I Know What You Did Last Summer, will write and executive produce the show. He also co-created popular series like Dawson’s Creek and The Vampire Diaries.
What is The Waterfront about?
Based on real events, The Waterfront follows the troubled Buckley family as they struggle to hold onto their failing fishing business in North Carolina, using riskier and riskier tactics.
Who is in the cast of The Waterfront?
Holt McCallany plays Harlan Buckley. Is he good or bad? It’s not clear. He likes his whiskey and built up the Buckley fishing empire with his father, sometimes bending the law in the ’80s. After two heart attacks, he didn’t change much and left the business to his wife, Mae, and son, Cane. Maria Bello plays Mae, who is trying to save the family business with some shady methods. With Mae and Cane making bad choices, Harlan has to step in again.
Fans will surely be excited about this twisty new show!
