Some families argue at dinner, but this one fights in the wrestling ring.
The series Heels is about two brothers running their family’s wrestling company in a small Georgia town. After their father’s death, the scripted dramas they create start affecting their real lives.
What’s the show Heels about?
In wrestling, the bad guy is called the “heel,” and the good guy is the “face.” In this show, both roles are played by brothers. After their dad dies, Jack Spade works hard to keep their wrestling league, Duffy Wrestling League, alive while also being the “heel.” His brother Ace is the “face,” the crowd favorite. But soon, their wrestling personas mix with real life, turning their rivalry personal. They clash over different visions for their business. After a big fight in season one, where fake fighting becomes real, Ace starts acting more like a villain too.
Michael Waldron said on X, “Friday Night Lights in the world of small town pro wrestling, but every character is Tim Riggins.”
Who’s in the cast of Heels?
Is Heels based on a true story?
Nope, but it shows what indie wrestling is like and digs into drama beyond the ring.
Ludwig said in 2023, “I always felt that it wasn’t just a wrestling show. Wrestling is such an incredible world to explore, but underneath it all, it’s about identity and it’s about people — and flawed people at that.”
We think the show’s take on personal struggles makes it relatable.
When is the show Heels coming to Netflix?
Both seasons are now streaming, so you can watch the Spade brothers’ battles anytime.
