Charlie Hunnam Leads Third Season of Ryan Murphy’s Monster Series

They’re ready for the next Monster season, and they’ve got their killer lined up.

New Season Revelation

During the Los Angeles premiere of Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story, Ryan Murphy, the co-creator, disclosed that Ed Gein will be the focus of the next Monster anthology. Charlie Hunnam, known for his roles in Sons of Anarchy and Rebel Moon Part One: A Child of Fire, is set to take on the lead role.

First Season Triumph

The debut season, DAHMER — Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, featured Evan Peters as Dahmer and Niecey Nash as Glenda Cleveland. This season delved into the life of the infamous serial killer, Jeffrey Dahmer. Garnering 1 billion hours of viewing in its initial 60 days, it became one of only four series to hit this mark. Currently, it’s the third most-watched English language series on Netflix.

Fans sure do love a gripping story!

Expanding the Series

Following the overwhelming success of DAHMER — Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, Netflix greenlit two more seasons from Murphy and Brennan. The second season, Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story, premieres on September 19th. It tells the chilling tale of the Menendez brothers, who were convicted in 1996 for killing their parents, José and Mary Louise “Kitty” Menendez. This season features Javier Bardem as José Menendez, Chloë Sevigny as Mary Louise “Kitty” Menendez, Cooper Koch as Erik Menendez, and Nicholas Alexander Chavez as Lyle Menendez.
