Ali Wong’s New Special Single Lady Explores Divorced Mom Era

Ali Wong is making a big return to stand-up comedy.

She’s back with a fresh and daring style. This spring, the San Francisco comedian filmed her fourth Netflix special called Single Lady. In this new show, Wong dives into her life after divorce, sharing stories about her journey and search for love. Known for her blunt humor on topics like monogamy and feminism, she now brings a unique perspective as a divorced mom.

The special was shot during her residency at The Wiltern in Los Angeles, where she headlined the Netflix Is A Joke Fest. Wong may have ditched her usual animal print outfits, but she’s packed the show with sharp takes and advice for everyone.

Directed by Wong herself, she also took on the role of executive producer alongside John Irwin. Single Lady is set to premiere on Netflix on Oct. 8. Until then, there’s no shortage of Wong’s work to enjoy. Fans can revisit her previous specials Don Wong, Hard Knock Wife, and Baby Cobra. Plus, her Emmy-winning drama series BEEF showcases her versatility.

For those wanting more, Wong stars in the comedy film Always Be My Maybe and voices characters in Netflix’s Ask the StoryBots and Ada Twist, Scientist, as well as the adult animated comedy Big Mouth.

We really can’t get enough of her humor!
