Alice Oseman, the creator, says Season 3 will dive into Charlie’s mental health struggles, which will shape the story. It’s going to be more mature as the characters grow up.

What will happen in Heartstopper Season 3?
The first episode, titled “Love,” starts with Charlie wanting to tell Nick he loves him, and Nick having something important to say too. As school resumes, they realize there will be ups and downs. They’ll learn more about each other, throw parties, and think about university, leaning on loved ones when things get tough.
Oseman shared that relationships remain central. Each couple’s progression is key, and fans can expect something new. “I’m so excited because it’s going to feel like a really different season,” she said.
One big change: Ben won’t return in Season 3, but Oseman hasn’t revealed much else.
Are there any new characters in Heartstopper Season 3?
Yes, new faces are joining. Hayley Atwell will play Nick’s aunt Diane, Eddie Marsan will be Charlie’s therapist Geoff, and Jonathan Bailey will make a cameo as Jack Maddox, Charlie’s celebrity crush.
Oseman said it was great to see these new talents with the existing cast and can’t wait for fans to meet them.
Also, Darragh Hand will play Michael Holden, a character from Oseman’s first novel. Michael is Tori’s love interest and is described as an optimistic and quirky character.
Oseman was thrilled to find someone who perfectly matched Michael from the books.
